I try to style our company as the" anti-social media and SEO" social media and SEO company.

That may be some what contradictory, but it works well for us. Instead of wasting away hours, days and weeks putting up blog posts on SEO tips and social mead strategies and giving lectures, we try and spend our time WORKING for our clients.

Here's my best SEO tip for you. Hire a good SEO, Internet marketing company. That may seem an obvious statement from a SEO company, but think about it. SEO done right takes a lot of labor. If you own a business, I doubt you have the time or tools to go around looking for powerful links.

But today, I would like to get into a little SEO discussion with you as Google continues to make big changes to it's indexing algorithm.

Google and other search engines frequently change their tactics, but we are starting to see larger changes that have bigger implications on our clients.

We like to think that we stay ahead of these, but it does bring up a very important point. SEO is and will always be an on-going process. Just like our clients jumped their competitors in search rankings, they can also be jumped right back in due time.

So please understand when you are considering taking on the SEO challenge yourself - success is only temporary.

Web design Challenge No. 1 - Design meet functionality

Great Web designers should be extremely creative and should always been searching for ways to push the design envelop in a different direction.

Web design company Websites often are a big reflection of that. They can take on a "this is our site and we can do whatever we want" feel.

The problem with that is that your potential customers don't always agree with your creative tastes.

A nice, clean look can be perceived as bland and creative graphic elements can be seen as over-the-top and weird.

Let's be honest. Our customers are professional service companies that aren't always the most bleeding edge personality types.

So the No. 1 challenge for a Web company when making their own site is to reign in your creative geniuses.

Most of the time, when you announce that you want to redo the site, a party like atmosphere goes off in the office.

"We'll finally get to use that spiral flash graphic that that one customer said made her want to throw up."

You have to learn to say no. In the end, you as the business owner are the client. Be creative. Show your capabilities. But make sure it makes sense and make sure every element you include has a purpose.
