Changes in how Google's algorythm is nothing new in the SEO world.

They are constant yet subtle. But today, Google admitted in a lenghty blog post that it's taking SE spam seriously and changes are coming.

"Google search and search engine spam">We have seen a slight uptick of spam in recent months, and while we’ve already made progress, we have new efforts underway to continue to improve our search quality."

So what does this mean for SEO and SEO companies like Magnetic? Nothing because all of our services focus on white hate techniques that are encouraged by Google. What we do, in the end, makes Google's search results better and it brings new business to clients.

Google Review errors

Now that Google has established it's going to take reviews seriously, it's time for the search giant to fix several massive bugs.

No 1, the review system is having huge errors accepting new reviews. Simply placing a review of your favorite company is timing out browsers and failing to post them properly.

This is very frustrating as it's difficult enough to get a satisfied customer to go to Google reviews and post positive reviews. If the review fails to post on the first attempt you can bet they'll never be back for any reviews.

Next, Google is doing some stupid techniques to increase it's review data. Google is currently using reviews posted in forums and placing them into their own system.

From the data I've looked at, this has been FAR from perfect. Reviews for different products and companies are getting placed under the wrong businesses.

I think Google Reviews will be an important part of SEM, but nevertheless there are some major issues that need to be addressed.
